Shell

I had forgotten you dear snail

Forgotten that once  like my lovely son

I watched you all day just for fun.

When did I stop wondering at your magic?

You carry about your perfect little house.

No wonder you move slowly.

You are never rushing to get home.

Home is where the heart is

And I suppose for you it is.

Do you even have a heart dear snail?

You must.

You have left shiny trails all over my garden

As the stars shone you kept moving.

Just like me you are searching.

And just like me when life becomes hell

You retreat quietly into your shell.

I won’t forget you this time snail

We have too much in common.
