Filigree

I saw a girl’s heart shatter today

Right there at the side of the road.

No one batted an eyelid.

Her filigree heart was all over the footpath

And everyone just trudged right through.

She looked hopelessly at the back of his head

He was oblivious.

The cling-clang of heartbreak has become

White noise.

We are all oblivious.

‘The cling-clang of heartbreak has become/White noise’ – ouch! You hit the nail on the head with that one. A brilliant way to sum up our indifference to suffering. Harula x

Thanks Harula – yeah I really do feel we are desensitized to what others can be going through- I suppose that’s how we survive but it makes me sad sometimes x

There’s survival and then there’s living, and there’s protecting oneself and finding a middle path which doesn’t have to shut out the pain of others entirely in order to maintain some level of personal peace and equanimity…ok, off my soap box 😉 A BIG topic! Love, Harula xx

This breaks my heart.. reminds me of a barbaric incident that happened with a girl 4 years back. She died. Many more like her out there.
