I licked the salty film from you
I coated my skin with your sludge
I was all over you and you were all over me
There wasn’t a moment of my day
Not a moment
When you weren’t on me, in me
Always flowing through my veins
Always driving me in uncertain directions.
Now a year has gone by
And although you still linger just a little longer
And I can still almost taste you
You’re a fading plume of smoke in the air
One gust of wind will blow you away.
I never prayed for storms before but this time
I need one.
