I Do Believe in Fairies

Do you believe in Fairies ?

Don’t laugh just think.

Do you believe in stories with no proof?

Stories to make you feel better. Stories to shut you up.

You might as well.

I always thought that if I loved hard enough magic would happen.

That you would return the favor.

Oh Disney and Hollywood

All those stories that make you feel good.

I grew up on those, made wishes to the skies

But I may have found out about Santa

But not the rest of those lies.

Circle

autumn-1839430_1920.jpg

I’m calling for a revolution

And it starts in your own circle

In you own sphere.

With those that you hold dear.

Or did.

Try with them. Try your best

Let old follies and rages rest.

Hold out your hand in peace

Let your own battle cease.

These small wars. These small rages

Blot you life with blackened pages.

But when you look to bigger wars

You can’t understand the cause

It’s hard to see a reason

Why murder and violence mark every season.

But look at your life.

Examine your soul

Let the mending begin at home.

This revolution can be small

And might feel no good at all

But I promise you that if you all take part

The vibes of progress will really start

To spread outwards from its core

And overlap more and more

And soon your circle will be the world

And your tiny voice will have been heard.

Softer Falls

rest-52495_1920.jpg
Did you sleep child through it all?
The Winter snow, the Spring rainfall?
While the world was teeming, calling your name
You just kept on dozing all the same
Aye Sir I did. I slumbered fast
And hoped the peace it brought would last
For only in the closing eyes
Was I able to drown out horrible cries
Aye I did Sir, I slumbered tight
Through lavish days and lulling nights
I felt the moon crown in my thighs
Felt the sun heat turquoise skies
And still I lay and still I slept
While children laughed and old ladies wept
I will always sleep
I will always laze
Not for me this ‘living craze’
For I was made for softer falls
For wider skies and gilded halls
I was made for whirring stars
For glimmering blackness
For noiseless cars.
And would you sleep boy, through your whole life?
Though not all just hardship, not all strife?
Aye Sir yes,I would indeed
Not for me this greedy breed
The world is made of many kinds
Those who live it, they don’t mind
But I am certainly not one of those
So please do leave me to repose
I  really can’t carry this heavy lumber
So Sir good night. I’m off to slumber.

Fiddle Dee Dee

fiddle-dee-deeits-all-about-me

Fiddle dee dee

I’m filled with glee

My pockets are full

My life is free

Fiddle dee doo

I don’t care about you

Your lack of life

Won’t give me any strife.

Fiddle and fun

My life is overrun

With all things good

No feeling of ‘should’

I was borne here by luck

And I know that may suck

But I’d rather bury my head in the sand

Than give you a hand.

Tall Tales

Tall Tales.jpg

Cinderella said she lost her shoe by ‘accident’

But she was no fool

She knew the prince adored her.

She had felt his arousal against her leg.

Snow white flirted with all the huntsmen

It got her stepmother’s back up

When she shagged them in the stables.

Hansel and Gretel were too close for comfort

Their parents didn’t know what to do.

They sent them to the old lady in the woods

Hoping for a cure.

But their lust for one another was unquenchable.

They killed her for trying to tear them apart.

Read between the lines.

Question everything.

The world is full of  tall tales

And we lap them up like children.
